Seven years ago today, my (Shannon) wife, Erin, and I were married at the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury in Fulton, Missouri. It has been a great marriage, highlighted by three awesome children, a great support network of friends and family, and (most importantly) God’s continuous and abundant grace in our lives..
For the wedding, Erin asked me to set music for the responsorial psalm. The psalm chosen for the day was 118, which contains the statement: This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice in it and be glad. This statement has become very important for our family, as it helps us trust God and God’s plan for us. It also reminds us to appreciate each day as a tremendous gift from God.
