This week, the two of us are headed to Chicago for the NCEA Convention, where we have been invited to present a breakout session. Our presentation, titled “Full, Conscious, Active, GO!: Readying the Young Church for Mission,” is designed to give those working with young people tools and a helpful framework for engaging youth in worship, so they can then go out and be the presence of Christ in the world. I know, that’s a lofty goal for a breakout session, but we have to start somewhere.
Our session will run from 2:00-3:15pm on Wednesday, April 24 in Room W176B.
Planning to attend NCEA? Come join us!
Know someone attending? Please tell them about our session.
Some of the reason for our NCEA excitement has to do with just how many fun Oddwalk moments are tied up in our past appearances there. If we had to pick one moment to highlight, though, it would have to be 2009 in Anaheim, where got to eat breakfast with our friend Bob Rice and his son John and ended up being given the last available hotel room, which turned out to be a pretty nice conference room. You can find it all detailed here.
No matter how things turn out this Wednesday, we hope our appearance at the convention can be truly helpful to a few teachers and catechists and play some small part in the building up of God’s kingdom here on earth.
