Oddwalk Ministries

Introduction

The following text may be used in promotion or to introduce Oddwalk at events:

Oddwalk Ministries consists of Shannon Cerneka, Orin Johnson, their families, friends, and all of you! Shannon and Orin officially founded Oddwalk Ministries in 2004 after many years of a more informal existence. It exists to help young and old alike embrace life as Eucharistic people through fun, upbeat, and interactive music and witnessing.

Oddwalk has performed in front of thousands of teenagers and adults in such venues as NCYC and NCCYM, World Youth Day catechetical sessions, several diocesan youth rallies and conferences, the Youth Day of the L.A. Religious Education Congress and the NCEA National Convention. Oddwalk has also performed in parish and school settings, helped lead retreats and prayer services, and has made countless other appearances in a wide variety of venues.

After recording several self-produced CDs, their first CD with GIA, an album of music for prayer and liturgy titled “Walk Away Different” was released in November of 2007, with several of the pieces included in GIA’s contemporary hymnal titled “Cross Generation.” Their second CD with GIA, “Alright Now,” was released in the fall of 2009, featuring the funny, silly side of Catholicism. Their 2015 self-produced CD and songbook “Mercy at Work” features music for prayer, liturgy, faith-sharing, and community, and is a great resource for praying over justice, peace, and action. Shannon and Orin also have liturgical music published with OCP and WLP.

Oddwalk Ministries brings a message of “Jesus, Justice, Joy” to every group. Visit them online at www.oddwalkministries.com or search “Oddwalk.”
