{"id":9191,"date":"2016-12-06T21:23:23","date_gmt":"2016-12-07T03:23:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/oddwalkministries.com\/oddblog\/?p=9191"},"modified":"2016-12-07T15:24:00","modified_gmt":"2016-12-07T21:24:00","slug":"nccym-2016-videos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/oddwalkministries.com\/oddblog\/2016\/12\/06\/nccym-2016-videos\/","title":{"rendered":"NCCYM 2016 Videos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This past weekend, Oddwalk was invited to take on several roles that exemplify the things we find important in our ministries, at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nccym.info\">National Conference on Catholic Youth Ministry<\/a> in San Jose, California. \u00a0We are grateful for these opportunities, whether it&#8217;s leading prayer, encouraging audience participation, making people laugh, or commenting on our retreat ministry. \u00a0Here are a few videos of those moments.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>First, here we are, with Shannon&#8217;s wife Erin, singing a prelude before the Saturday morning mass, a piece by Orin titled &#8220;To Know Darkness,&#8221; published by <a href=\"http:\/\/giamusic.com\">GIA Publications<\/a>\u00a0and on our <a href=\"http:\/\/oddwalkministries.com\/oddblog\/merchandise\/\">&#8220;Walk Away Different&#8221; CD<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tzcghqFRJBg\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Next, here we are talking a bit about our retreat ministry at a &#8220;Great Ideas&#8221; session later that day.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RfSuMiFB4xs\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But a highlight for us of these NCCYM weekends is the &#8220;Youth Ministry Extravaganza&#8221;   a chance for folks like us, who &#8220;do what we do,&#8221; to thank the youth ministers (and others) in attendance and hopefully feed their souls through, among other things, humor. \u00a0We relish the chance to create original &#8220;set pieces&#8221; for this night (previously &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/oddwalkministries.com\/oddblog\/videos\/nccym-may-god-bless-and-keep-you-far-away-from-me-hq\/\">May God Bless and Keep You,<\/a>&#8221; &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/oddwalkministries.com\/oddblog\/2014\/12\/07\/songs-we-should-never-record-nccym-2014\/\">Songs We Should Never Record<\/a>&#8221; and others); this year, thanks to an idea from our friend Erin Brennan, we created a segment where we pretend to be covering the Games of the XXIII Liturginerd Olympiad.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/KOkOyVC0t04\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For a couple extra &#8220;goodies&#8221; related to the Liturginerd Olympics, <a href=\"http:\/\/oddwalkministries.com\/oddblog\/videos\/the-games-of-the-xxiii-liturginerd-olympiad-nccym-2016\/\">click here<\/a>!
