We’ve been tagged by friend Bob Rice<\/a> in a prayer meme, to list our three favorite prayers. \u00a0He was tagged by the catholicymblog<\/a>, and you can trace more of its genealogy there.<\/p>\n

As Orin is composing this post without Shannon around, I’ll only list two favorite prayers, and let him add one in the comments!<\/p>\n

Orin’s favorite prayer #1: Glory Be – I like it as being so simple and complex in its brevity. \u00a0An expression of praise, of trinitarian belief, of eschatology, and of the eternal nature of God.<\/p>\n

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
\nAs it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
\nworld without end, amen.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Orin’s favorite prayer #2: Salve Regina – a beautiful chant melody to a beautiful prayer asking the blessed mother’s intercession for us, especially upon our death. \u00a0In English, it’s the “Hail, Holy Queen.” \u00a0(Listen to it here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

We’ll wait for Shannon to chime in, in the comments, with favorite prayer #3. \u00a0Now, Orin has another favorite prayer, but it just didn’t seem right to officially list it here, but here it is, as a “bonus” favorite prayer!<\/p>\n
